Welcome Home

We want your stay at the Maxam House to be a home away from home. Whether you are in Princeton for a brief or extended time, we welcome you into our house! The Maxam House is a family-run operation, and we love getting to know our guests and making them feel right at home.

Built in 1884, the Maxam House is one of Princeton’s oldest brick residences. Our charming bed and breakfast offers four beautiful guest rooms that appeal to a variety of tastes. Each room has a private bath, TV/DVD player, refrigerator, and includes a delicious evening snack and homemade breakfast. Come join us for a stay!

Wonderful Stay

“I loved everything about my stay! The Maxam House makes you feel like you have stepped back in time. The house is rooted in history, but you will also be able to enjoy the modern luxuries it offers. MaryFran is a gracious host who makes you feel like part of the family. The cranberry scones with cinnamon sauce were delicious, and the boutique is an added bonus! I will definitely be back with my family.”

Never Disappointed

“Always had a good experience at The Maxam House however, MaryFran Stransky has added Home Cooked Meals and Great Company. This makes our stay that much better. MaryFran’s sister, Jennifer has a boutique with some amazing creations. We purchased some for ourselves. With the hospitality of MaryFran and Jennifer, you Check In as Guests and Leave as Family. We will always stay at the Maxam House when back to Princeton!!”

Weekend Away

“The wife and I enjoyed our stay. The hosts are amazing, the house is fabulous and the bed in the room we stayed in allowed us to sleep in, something we haven’t done in years, super comfy!! All of their recommendations for the surrounding areas were spot on as well. If I lived anywhere near this place though, I would visit just for breakfast!!!!!! We will be back, ASAP!!”
